Pressure Washer Surface Cleaners — 19" to 30"

A surface cleaner is the fastest money you will make on flatwork, provided the deck matches the machine. This is the single most common mistake we see: someone buys the biggest deck they can afford, hangs it off a 4 GPM machine, and then cleans slowly and leaves stripes.

The rule of thumb is about 1 GPM for every 4 to 5 inches of deck. In practice: 4 GPM is the minimum for a 19 or 20 inch, 5 to 6 GPM for a 24, and 6 GPM minimum on a 28 or 31 inch — though you want 8 GPM or better to get full speed out of the big decks. Every deck on this page lists the flow range its manufacturer rates it for, so check yours against your machine.

One spec people miss: the temperature ceiling tracks the cover material, not the size. Aluminium-covered decks take 212°F. The plastic-covered ones stop at 180 to 185°F. If you run hot water, that number matters more than the deck width does.
